Character design & caricature

Recently I came across a few blogs of extremely talented artists named Ken coogan, Chris Kennett, Gabby Zapata, Michael Amos, and the list goes on......... I must say that their work is so amazing that I don't know how to describe, its better to see yourself. Any ways from thereon I got interested in character design and caricature. Initially it was difficult and I wasn’t getting what I had in mind so I tried to copy other artist's work and then I tried to create my own. And I guess I am getting better now.

This picture is my first attempt which I copied from Chris Kennett's Gabby girl. I named her lola. Hope I did justice to the original character.

This sketch is also a copied version of Chris Kennett's muscular muse

It's my first creation and Gabby girl was the inspiration for shy lola....... thats what I named her.

This is my dad's caricature. In case your thinking that my dad was posing like this for me then I should tell you that he wasn't, I did so just to make it look funnier.

Oil painting

I have always loved oil paints especially because they are excellent for blending with surrounding paint. When blended on canvas, oil paints are capable of creating artistic brush strokes and blends that are not possible with other forms of paint and also oil paints can often be left exposed to air for up to several weeks without drying. This characteristic makes it possible for an artist to work on a painting over several sessions without fear of the paint drying up too early.

These two paintings of mine depicts that good and bad are two different sides of God's creation. Every thing in this world has both the sides and its up to us which one should be better served.

This painting is of Lord Ganesha and I played with different shades of orange, red and brown in this painting.
